Southeast Iowa Entrepreneurship Conference Holds Pitch-It Contest

On September 20, 2016 the first ever Southeast Iowa Entrepreneurship Conference IES Brochure will be held at Indian Hills Community College in partnership with the Immigrant Entrepreneur Summit.   Local host sponsors for this event include: Community 1st Credit Union, Indian Hills Community College, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach,  Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation, Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce and SCORE.  The following schedule applies to the day:

8:00 a.m. – Registration opens (continental breakfast available)

9:00 a.m. – Opening ceremony

10:00 a.m. – Session 1 “Avoiding Legal Trouble”

11:00 a.m. – Session 2 “Financing Your Business”

12:00 p.m. – Networking and exhibit table

12:30 p.m. – Vision Awards luncheon

2:00 p.m. – Session 3 “Marketing Your Business to the Next Step”

3:00 p.m. – Pitch-It Competition

The Legacy Foundation is excited to partner with Community 1st Credit Union to offer the PitchIt Perfect Pitch Competition at this event.  Applicants will be eligible for two different awards including a $3,000 award from ORLF for new or expanding businesses in Wapello County and a $3,000 award from Community 1st for immigrant entrepreneurs.  Applications can be downloaded here: PitchIt Perfect Application 2016 or picked up at the Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce office or the IHCC Regional Entrepreneurship Center. Completed applications must be returned to the Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce office by August 31st, 2016.  Applicants must be prepared to make their “pitch” during the Entrepreneurship Conference on September 20th in order to be eligible for the awards.
