Classroom Champions: Teacher Mini Grant


At the Legacy Foundation, we recognize that many teachers and associates use their own personal funds to enrich the student experience in their class
and we want to help.

Eligibility Criteria

PreK-12th grade teachers and para-educators that serve the students of Wapello County.

Qualifying Schools/Programs: Ottumwa, Cardinal, Eddyville, Seton Catholic, Ottumwa Christian, and Head Start.

Eligible Use of Funds: (Below are only suggested items that qualify)

Grant Request Amount

Qualifying teachers and para-associations can receive up to $750 per person.

Each school district will have a capped amount of $5,000 and will be served on a first come, first served basis until depleted.

Receiving the Funds

Once approved for the mini-grant program, you will be notified by the Legacy Foundation.
Money will be given directly to your school district and you will follow your school's business office procedures to purchase the approved items, kits, etc, or sign up for approved professional development.

Please note: You will not be able to be reimbursed.

Create a user profile by clicking the link below and begin the online grant application process. Applicants are required to submit a brief narrative explaining the use of grant money and how it will benefit their classroom and school.

Review of applications will happen on a monthly basis. Notifications may take up to 14-21 days after review cycle. Grant awards will be paid to and administered through the applications business office.

Timeline

Application Period:

August 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024

  • Internal Review period: Upon arrival in house
  • Approval: Upon arrival in house
  • Grant Distribution: Money will be dispersed to the appropriate school district immediately after approval conversation
