Seeding the Success of Entrepreneurs

Incubator donation13webThe Legacy Foundation has announced that a $350,000 grant has been awarded to Indian Hills Community College to assist in the construction of a business incubator located at the north workforce campus.  “The Legacy Foundation is committed to improving community vitality through better jobs, education and opportunity.  We feel the concept of a business incubator coupled with the location at the north campus is a near perfect way of leveraging the resources available in the area.  Particularly those that are of interest to an entrepreneur such as access to a fiber optic network, the nearby airport and easy access to the highway to name a few” stated Brad Little President and CEO of the Legacy Foundation.

The Indian Hills Regional Business Incubator will serve as the hub of a region-wide initiative to provide enhanced support services to both new entrepreneurs and existing businesses.  A variety of services will be coordinated through the incubator.  A few of these services are:

Monthly meetings with an experienced business advisor

Another element of this initiative is the Incubating Main Street program. This program will provide expertise to communities that may wish to utilize existing buildings in their towns as incubators for businesses to immediately locate in that specific community.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the incubator was held on October 25th.   Those interested in learning more about the Regional Business Incubator should contact Indian Hills Community College Regional Economic Advancement Center at (641) 683-5170.
