Legacy Foundation Health Career Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Legacy Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Laboratory Control Ltd. (LCL) Health Career Scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year.  Since 2004, when the program was developed, $562,725 has been provided in scholarship support to 193 students from 43 communities in our region pursuing a healthcare career. The intent of the scholarship program is to invest in the education of those students that may look to Southeast Iowa for employment in health care following the completion of their studies. 

This year, $28,000 was awarded with scholarship amounts ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.  Applicants for LCL scholarships are reviewed and scored by the LCL Scholarship Committee, with identifying information removed. This year’s scholarship recipients represent 9 different communities and have 9 different courses of study. 

The 2025-2026 scholarship recipients, their hometowns, and their majors are listed below: 

  • Jill Ardueser (Ottumwa) – Dietician 
  • Body Brinegar (Bloomfield)- Pre-Professional: Physical Therapy 
  • Camdyn Crouse (Ottumwa) – Health Care Administration 
  • Elise Hayes (Ottumwa) – BSN 
  • Klaire Heald (Drakesville) – Physician 
  • Madelynn Hornback (Sigourney) – Pre-Professional: Physical Therapy 
  • Callie Kracht (Farmington) – Pre-Professional: Physical Therapy 
  • Lauren Kraemer (Fairfield) – Speech Language Pathology 
  • Ashlyn Lasley (Moulton) – RN 
  • Alicia Long (Ottumwa) – RN 
  • Kaylin McDanel (Mystic) – Pre-Professional: Medicine 
  • Cameron Manary (Ottumwa) – Pre-Professional: Medicine 
  • Cameron Pauls (Blakesburg) – Pre-Professional: Sonography 
  • Kathryn Shewry (Ottumwa) – BSN 
  • Abigail Warning (Bloomfield) – Pre-Professional: Medicine
