Legacy Foundation Announces New Board Members

The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation (ORLF) is proud to announce the addition of four new members to their board of directors including Lesley Conning, Phil Noel, Sandra Hendred and Brian McWilliams.

The Foundation’s all-volunteer board of directors are selected for demonstrating a high level of commitment to the Ottumwa area, extensive knowledge in their professional area of expertise and personal involvement in community engagement. The Legacy Board provides oversight of the strategic direction, policy and responsibly steward over $75 million in assets.

Lesley Conning has worked for John Deere for nearly 20 years and is the Factory Manager at John Deere Ottumwa Works.  Lesley holds a Bachelor Engineering Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and an Honors Business Administration Degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business. 

Phil Noel is the CEO of Ottumwa Regional Health Center.  A graduate from The Citadel in Charleston, Phil received additional education in Hospital Administration from the Duke Endowment and Carolinas Medical Center.

Sandra Hendred is an elementary school teacher in the Ottumwa School District and co-owner of Polar Xpress. Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from William Penn University.

Brian McWilliams graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s in Business, Management and Marketing.  Brian is the President of McCune and Reed Insurance.

The Foundation would also like to announce a new slate of officers for the 2020 year:

Dr. Marlene Sprouse, President, Indian Hills Community College – serves as Chair

Lesley Conning, Factory Manager, John Deere – serves as Vice-Chair

Natalie Bolin, Chief Financial Officer, South Ottumwa Savings Bank -serves as Treasurer

“I have never worked with such a committed group of individuals”, stated ORLF President Steve Dust. “Each member brings his or her own unique set of skills and strengths but their common attribute is their dedication to improving the Ottumwa of today and planning for the Ottumwa of the future.
