Cargill Meat Solutions and the Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation have partnered up to provide the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department the monies needed to purchase the remaining two computers of the In-Car Computer Systems project.   “The safety of our local law enforcement was the number one reason for supporting this project,” stated Randy Zorn, General Manager for Cargill Meat Solutions.  “The additional element of increased department efficiency is also a great bonus.”  The new mobile technology will advance the capabilities of the Sheriff’s Office by allowing officers mobile programming access and substantially increased communication from the field.  “The Foundation appreciates the thoughtfulness and effort that has gone into getting this project funded and off the ground by Sheriff Miller and Chief Deputy Phillips and are happy to assist in providing these essential resources for the Department.” says Kelly Genners, director of community leadership & grant-making for the Legacy Foundation.
